MARK F. MCGOVERN, DDS

Dr. McGovern is a 1986 graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree and a 1991 graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School. A native of Escanaba, he also attended Bay de Noc Community College and received an Associates Degree in 1984. He is married to Laurie and is the father of two daughters and a stepfather of two. He has one grandson. Dr. McGovern enjoys the outdoor opportunities afforded one living in the Upper Peninsula, especially hunting, fishing, and golf. He is member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Superior District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

MINDY J. SCHETTER, DDS

Dr. Schetter is a Marquette native (formerly Mindy LaBelle). She graduated in 2000 from Northern Michigan University with her bachelors degree in biology then continued on to dental school at the University of Michigan. She graduated in May 2005 and joined our practice shortly afterwards. She is married to Joe and together they have two daughters. They enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and things of the sort. She also enjoys aerobics, reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family. She is a member of the Michigan Dental Association, American Dental Association, Superior District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

TAYLOR B. KREIS, DDS

Dr. Kreis may look familiar to you as she is the daughter of Dr. Mark McGovern, and served as an assistant here at Dental Associates before attending college. Dr. Kreis was born and raised in Marquette, Michigan. She received her Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Central Michigan University, and went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Michigan. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the Delta Sigma Delta organization. Dr. Kreis enjoys working out, fishing, watching Michigan athletics, hunting and spending time with her family. Dr. Kreis chose dentistry because she was able to combine her love of educating and helping patients who are nervous or in pain. She is happy to be home serving her community, and we are excited to have her back!

Meet our Hygienists

RACHEL KOLTVEDT, RDH

Department Head
Rachel joined our hygiene team in January 2006. She graduated from Ferris State University in 2001, and worked in the Grand Rapids area for the first five years. She is also licensed to provide local anesthesia and to administer nitrous oxide sedation. Rachel is married and has two children. She likes to participate in many outdoor activities such as cross-country skiing, biking, snowshoeing, kayaking, and gardening. Her enthusiasm and additional training in anesthesia and sedation makes her an ideal team member in our office.
SUE MADDEN, RDH

Sue has been our senior hygienist with 30 years, joining our office in January 1989. Her total experience is 40 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan, with a certificate in Dental Hygiene. She is married to Josh, and is the mother of three children; Jen, Josh and Jacy. They all enjoy family time, camping, hiking, kayaking, and fishing. She is a member and past president of the Upper Peninsula District Dental Hygiene Society; also the MDHA and the ADHA. She enjoys giving back to her community. She has been an active member of the Zonta Club of Marquette for over 25 years and recently received the prestigious Evergreen Award. She also serves as the dental component of the Geriatric Education Center of Michigan's Upper Peninsula Health Care Team, addressing the health care needs of the elderly. Her commitment to the care of our patients is outstanding.
CONNIE NELSON, RDH

Connie has been with Dental Associates since June 1998. She attended Northern Michigan University, and graduated in 1998 with her degree in Dental Hygiene from Delta college. She is married to Troy; and they have a daughter and a set of twin boys and a dog. Connie enjoys family time, swimming in the summer, and cross country skiing in the winter. Living in Munising, Connie is able to work in our offices both in Marquette and Munising. Her flexibility and friendly attitude make her ideally suited for bringing excellent hygiene care to our patients.
ELIZABETH LASICH, RDH

Liz joined our hygiene team in March 2007. She graduated from Ferris State University in 2000 after also completing one year at Northern Michigan University. As a Marquette native, she has been working in the Marquette area since her graduation. Liz is married to Geoff and together they have two children. She enjoys spending time at home with her family, and many outdoor activities such as hiking and snowshoeing. Liz also has extensive continuing education in TMJ and sleep apnea diagnostics which will enhance the availability of the treatment options current present in our office. This additional training and her fresh approach makes her a great addition to our team.
TAYLOR SPEAR, RDH

Taylor joined the team at Dental Associates in March 2015. She graduated from Ferris State University in 2012. She is certified to give local anesthetic and administer nitrous oxide. After graduation, she worked in the Lansing area before moving back to the U.P. She is married to Jake, and they have 2 boys. They are a very active family which includes numerous sports, gardening, and quality family time.
PAULA KNOFSKI, RDH

Paula graduated from Oakland Community College in 2007. She is licensed in Nitrous Oxide sedation delivery and Local Anesthesia in addition to her Hygiene Licensure. She grew up on a dairy farm in a rural area, located in the thumb of Michigan. After graduating high school, she then moved to the metro Detroit area for 20 years. Paula and her husband, Carl, relocated to the Marquette area in 2019 to enjoy a better quality of life and the beauty of the Upper Peninsula. Not only do her and Carl work hard as well in their spare time with their apparel business, but they are also avid snowmobile and motorcycle enthusiasts. Paula also enjoys kayaking, hiking, gardening, reading, traveling, and watching movies.
JANINE DELLANGELO, RDH

Janine joined our hygiene team in April, 2021. She graduated from Ferris State University in 1996 with a dental hygiene degree. She has practiced in the Marquette and West Ishpeming areas for the past 27 years. Janine lives in West Ishpeming with her husband, Tim, and two grown boys. She enjoys traveling, snowshoeing, kayaking and taking long walks.
JENNIFER TRAVIS, RDH

Jennifer joined the hygiene department in August 2022. She graduated from Ferris State University in 1994 and is certified in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. Jennifer and her husband live in Munising and moved here from the Traverse City area. They have had a camp for over 20 years in the U.P. and it was a goal to move here as soon as they could. She and her husband love the outdoors year-round and enjoy hiking, biking, boating, skiing, ice climbing, hunting, fishing, golf, kayaking, and traveling. They have two grown children, two German shepherds and two cats. Staying current on continuing education is crucial and she is passionate about educating patients on periodontal disease, TMJ, sleep apnea, decay and how the mouth affects the body's overall health. Jennifer feels blessed with her career, loves meeting new clients and establishing a bond with recurrent clients. Not to mention the fact that she feels fortunate to be working with all her co-workers at Dental Associates and the amazing care that is provided by all!

TAMARA MCCLELLAN

Business Manager
Tammy joined Dental Associates in September of 1978. She is a graduate of Marquette Senior High School and Northern Michigan University. Tammy started as a "girl Friday" during her high school years. Upon graduating from Northern Michigan University,she then continued her work at the front desk, Treatment Assistant and the Preventive Hygiene Program. She became the Office Manager in 2000 and was promoted to the Business Manager in 2010. She has been married to David since 1989. Tammy and her husband enjoy their time with family, friends, entertaining and traveling.

MARCY MUELLE

Office Manager
Marcy is a native of the Upper Peninsula. She has lived in the Marquette area since 1991 and has been with Dental Associates since 2008. She enjoys being part of a team that makes patients feel welcomed and valued. She is happy to answer any question and ensure a positive visit for all patients.
